The Origin of Greenwood Electronic Components goes back to the 1970s, and has been trading in its current form since 1991. The Trompeter Electronics franchise has been an important part of our business for over 30 years, and continues to be so.

Our main strength is in our role as a value added distributor; we really do know about the products that we sell and can advise on application issues and the suitability of specific components. We have our own label products manufactured to exacting standards of performance and quality, and have an expertise in areas unrivalled in the industry.

One of these areas is the MIL-STD-1553B databus, in which we offer a full range of hardware (bus couplers, connectors, cables, terminators, etc.) generally available from stock. Our knowledge of how these products link together is well known, and this probably explains why the majority of our customers are engineers.

Another area where we have developed a growing business is in custom design and replication of connectors. We have replicated many obsolete connectors for the UK MOD and have also worked with Trompeter Electronics in adapting existing connectors for specific applications.
